IGNOU Prashnottri Sewa (IPS)

The IGNOU Prashnottari Sewa (IPS) project was conceptualised, designed and is being implemented for the University, learners and general users.

The IPS is a pilot implementation of application of Information Technology through relevant information systems and networking to aggregate, share and disseminates information of importance and interest to the students, lecturers, workers and officials to help enhance the overall education development and students' welfare in the country.

The main aim of the IPS project is to establish a student-centric integrated information system for education that would cater to the various requirements of the learners across the country.

The core deliverable of the project is an integrated, multi-component, multi-model and geographically-distributed Educational Information System that is accessible anywhere, anytime.

Student Satisfaction Survey

The Student Satisfaction Survey is an online questionnaire to study the learners' satisfaction. The Survey Awareness Network questioned IGNOU learners from across the country to find out their Internet activities. The Student Satisfaction Survey, designed by STRIDE and IUC and implemented in extensible technology framework by ACIIL, explores new areas of interest and revisits some of the initial findings from the baseline study of 2009.

IGNOU Open Course Guide (IOCG)

IOCG Wiki supports the IGNOU Open Course Guide system for the courses on offers. All Schools/Centres/Divisions/Institutes are invited to develop, post and manage their IOCG for their respective courses in the IOCG Wiki.

IOCG is an integral part of the Open Distributed Technology Enhanced Learning (ODTEL) system. ODTEL is being adopted by IGNOU as the open e-Learning framework for the conventional Open and Distance Learning (ODL).

The IGNOU Wiki is intended for the Schools, Centres, Divisions and Units of the University to announce the details regarding their programmes and activities dynamically.

The DEP-SSA is the nodal agency for distance education activities under the SSA. It endeavours strengthening the activities under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) for Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE), using distance learning to reach large target groups in a cost-effective manner. It aims to build capacities and empower teachers and other personnel to address issues related to quality education. It provides academic and technical support to the states to enable them adapt distance education as an integral part of SSA.

Course Wiki

The IGNOU Course Wiki would be augmented by an open students' wiki area, for them to post their supplementary comments and start discussions.

Regional Services Division (RSD)

The Regional Services Division (RSD) was established in February 1986 to operationalise the Regional Centres, Study Centres and Student Support Services of the University across the length and breadth of the country.
