ADVISORY COMMITTEE (AC)

The DEP-SSA project is being implemented under the overall guidance of Advisory Committee which is an apex body to advise and oversee the implementation of the project. The Vice-Chancellor chairs the Advisory Committee. This Committee facilitates networking among institutions, frames guidelines and provides leadership in monitoring the DEP-SSA activities. National educational institutions like IGNOU, NCERT, NUEPA, NIOS, MHRD and state project directors represent the Advisory Committee that meets once in a year.

PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE (PIC)

The Programme Implementation Committee (PIC) is an important body to oversee the implementation of the programme as envisaged in the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWP&B), both at the national and state levels. The project director, DEP-SSA, is Chairman of the PIC. The PIC has members Institutions like NCERT, IGNOU, MHRD, DEP-SSA and state project directors from three states in rotation. The PIC meets twice in a year.

DISTANCE EDUCATION COORDINATORS (DECs)

The DECs are representatives of the DEP-SSA at the state level. They play an important role in planning, designing and implementing distance education activities in the states. The meeting of DECs is organised twice a year to review the progress and implementation of distance education programmes and activities in states/UTs.
