Dr. Praveen Kumar Jain is coordinating the PG Certificate in Agriculture Policy (PGCAP), PG Diploma in Plantation Management (PGDPM) and Ph.D. in Agriculture Extension (PGDAGE) programmes at IGNOU. He has written 9 units of various courses and involved in editing of 18 courses and facilitated development of 4 video programmes, 2 audio programmes and 7 teleconferencing based video programmes. He has developed and offered a Massive Open Online Course entitled “Indian Agricultural Development” through SWAYAM platform. He has implemented ICAR-NAIP sponsored research project “Innovations in Technology Mediated Learning: An Institutional Capacity Building in Re-Usable Learning Object Technology in Agro-Horticulture” as Principal Investigator. He has conducted two need assessment studies on open and distance learning programmes in agriculture and organised 10 workshops on curriculum designs and development, need assessment, course writing, RLO development and AgriLORE platform. He has conducted three training programmes for farmers, rural youth, and extension functionaries in the areas of agricultural marketing, finance and risk management in North-East region and two eight days training courses for extension officials of state agriculture departments. He has organised one International Conference “Agriculture Education and Knowledge Management” as Co-organizing Secretary and one Regional Conference on “Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture Development” as Organizing Secretary. He has participated in two international training programmes at USA and Canada on reusable learning objects technology under NAIP project. He has participated in 21 Seminars/Conferences/Workshops. He is coordinating development of Masters in Agribusiness Management (MABM) programme. His areas of interest include Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Policy, Open and Distance Learning, Agricultural Marketing, Agriculture Extension, and Online leaning.
