Dr. Shiv Kumar Vyas
Associate Professor
Dr. Shiv Kumar Vyas has multidisciplinary qualifications in the areas of Agricultural Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, and Thermal Engineering. His research interest includes Field Irrigation & Water Conveyance, Thermo-fluid Dynamics involving Multiple Effect Distillation for Water Desalination, Design & Fabrication, Experimentation and Simulation etc.. He started his career as Research Associate in 1987 at Water Technology Centre, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi before joining IGNOU in 1988. He has to his credit Videos such as Energy Dissipators – A Programme on Hydraulics Irrigation, Channels, Discharge Measurement in Streams besides others which he developed with Prof. C. S. Moorthy who was his mentor. He successfully piloted the B.Sc. (Nautical Science) programme in partnership with Directorate General of Shipping, GoI. He has been associated with IGNOU-Hero MotoCorp Project for its Certificate Programme in Motorcycle Service and Repair. He is coordinating B.Tech (Civil- Water Resources Engineering) programme. He has passion for work and loves to undertake challenging tasks, and has groomed himself as a trouble shooter.
