Prof. Nilima Srivastava

Professor

 

Nilima Srivastava is a Professor and currently the Director with the School of Gender and Development Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.

Her area of specialization is women and work. She has researched extensively on work-life balance of women workers in International and national context in diverse settings.. She has also worked extensively on the Issue of Girl Child in India ; and Gender Sensitization of students in Higher Education.

She was a Visiting Professor to University of British Columbia, where she carried out a micro level research to study impact of Federal and Provincial Governments’ child care policies on working mothers in Vancouver.

Before her current assignment, she was a faculty with Women's Studies and Development Centre, University of Delhi. Earlier to that, she was a faculty with the School of Social Work, University of Delhi, Delhi.

She is a trained Social Worker from University of Delhi. She obtained her Ph.D in Social Work from University of Lucknow in 1993. She has written three books and published a number of research papers in national and international publications.
