Dr. Siya Ram
Associate Professor
Dr Siya Ram is an Associate Professor in the Discipline of Life Sciences at the School of Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 68. He has more than 14 years of teaching and research experience. Dr Ram has served as an Assistant Professor at the School of Biotechnology at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida (2009-2021). He has also served as Senior Research Scientist at ARA HealthCare, Gurgaon (2008-2009). Dr Ram earned his Master’s in Biotechnology from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi; PhD in Biochemistry from Environmental Microbiology Division, CSIR-IITR, Lucknow and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh, University, Ayodhya (7th Feb. 2009). His research contributions range from developing molecular probes for pathogen detection to understanding the molecular mechanisms of persistence in Pseudomonas aerogenosa and metagenomic investigation of river water. Dr Ram has published more than 30 research articles in National & International peer-reviewed high-impact journals such as Scientific Reports, Environmental Health Perspective, Environmental Science & Technology, and Science of the Total Environment. He also published more than 10 book chapters in edited books with reputed academic publishers such as Elsevier, Springer Nature Singapore Pvt. Ltd. and Nova Publishers. He has successfully completed one research project funded by SERB from Technology Bhawan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-16.
