Dr. SayantaniGuinholds M.Phil and PhD degrees in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She was a recipient of Junior & Senior Research Fellowship from UGC between 2004 and 2009. Prior to this, she completed B.S.W. from Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal and M.A in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Her academic and research interests include Case Work, Administration of Criminal Justice and HIV in prisons. She is a life member of various professional associations, viz. National Association of Professional Social Workers in India, the Indian Society of Professional Social Work and The Indian Society of Criminology. She has published books and many articles and presented several papers in national and international seminars. Dr. Guin is the coordinator for Bachelor in Social Work (BSW).
