The School faculty is currently engaged in a major research project of IGNOU "Translation and Development of Indigenous Knowledge Systems in North East India". The field work is being carried out in the Brahmputra Valley. The objective of the research is to study the process of knowledge formation and social communication in cross road regions such as North East India. The Project through its study of indigenous and endangered knowledge forms also aims at developing empirical research models in Translation studies in India.
