Media Release--Placement Activities on Rise at IGNOU : Campus Placement Drive on May 18, 2016

The Campus Placement Cell (CPC), IGNOU in association with Regional Centres of Delhi, NCR and adjoining RCs (Karnal, Aligarh, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Khanna and Jaipur) is organizing Campus Placement Drive for ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. and NetAmbit (an insurance broking firm) along with two HR agencies namely Vetta Solutions for Navigaint Technology and Get Hired for Interglobe Technologies and Globus Infocom as their clients on May 18, 2016 (Wednesday) at the Convention Centre, IGNOU Campus, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi.

All final year under-graduate of all streams (BA, B Com, B Sc, BSW, BCA and BTS) and all registered students of selected post-graduation programmes (MAH, MPS, MEG, MPA, MCA, MTM, M Com) are eligible. The salary bracket for all offered positions is Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month. Few more companies are expected to join the drive.

The students are required to carry a copy of their resume, an ID proof, address proof and passport size photograph at the time of interview. The students have to join immediately as these are urgent openings. The list of selected/shortlisted students will be declared at the end of the day.

Prof. Manoj Kulshrestha, Director Incharge CPC informed the University has initiated many placement related activities for the benefit of students/alumni. One such initiation is 10-day Training Programme on Employability Enhancement and Life Skills to make the students industry ready. The training module is being delivered by a corporate trainer, Global Talent Track (GTT) under CSR initiative of a leading MNC during May 4-14, 2016. He further informed that as an innovative experiment, these trained students will be offering their candidature in the Placement Drive on May 18, 2016 under the close watch of CPC. Encouraging results will pave the way for organizing many such training programmes in future at different locations in the country under CSR initiatives of many mega MNCs already in touch with CPC.

CPC is also supporting 4-day Rojgar Mela organized by IGNOU Regional Centre, Lucknow in collaboration with Training and Employment Directorate, Govt of Uttar Pradesh during May 16-19, 2016. Over 1000 students have already registered for this Rojgar Mela.
