Seminar on Indian Freedom Struggle : Different Voices, Varied Streams but Common Goal

Indira Gandhi Centre for Freedom Struggle Studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University is organizing one day seminar on “India’s Freedom Struggle : Different Voices, Varied Streams but Common Goal” on 9th August, Tuesday, 2016 at its campus located in MaidanGarhi, New Delhi. Dr.ChandanMitra, former Member of Parliament, Historian and Senior Journalist, will deliver the Key Note Address as Chief Guest & Prof.Ravindra Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU will preside over the function.
 
Prof. Kapil Kumar, Director of the Center informed that Prof. S Irfan Habib, Former Professor, MaulanaAbulKalam Azad Chair, NUEPA, New Delhi shall speak on “Role of Revolutionaries” besides other lectures on “Indian Freedom Struggle and Dalit Intelligentsia”, “Representations of Nation in Colonial India,  Netaji, INA and Indian National Movement: as depicted in Hindi Literature and Newspapers (1942-1947)” and “Depiction of Netaji’s revolutionary activities and his popularity in Urdu Press for India’s Struggle for Freedom”. He further informed that IGNOU is anticipating a large gathering of historians and social scientists at the seminar. The deliberations will also be web-casted through Government Video Portal, webcast.gov.in from 10 am onwards.
