Eligibility:

10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics

Fee Structure: The programme fee for three year is Rs. 18,000/- which need to be paid year wise @Rs. 6000/- per year. Please note that this fee does not include registration and examination fee.

 

The 3-year B.Sc. (Mathematics) programme under Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) has been offered to cater to the growing demands of quality education and employable workforce with Mathematics background. This programme has been designed in view of NEP 2020 with a semester approach in mind.

The programme aims to provide high quality higher education in mathematics and other type of courses through the open and distance learning mode by providing a broad-spectrum exposure to the students to a variety of interesting theoretical and practical concepts which will help the in acquiring knowledge with a wider perspective. Thus, by providing opportunities for career progression and higher education in mathematics discipline, the programme will be in alignment with learner needs and societal requirements.

Programme Objectives
Learners pursuing this programme would be able to:
 
·         develop deep interest in learning mathematics and mathematical thinking.
·         develop broad and balanced knowledge and understanding of definitions, concepts, principles and theorems and their proofs. 
·         familiarise themselves with suitable tools of mathematical analysis to handle issues and problems in mathematics and related areas. 
·         apply the knowledge and skills acquired by them during the programme to solve specific theoretical and applied problems in mathematics.
·         undertake further studies in mathematics and its allied areas in multiple disciplines concerned with mathematics.
·         develop a range of generic skills helpful in employment, internships and social activities.
 
Exit option: UG Certificate in Mathematics would be awarded after successful completion of first two semesters, i.e., 40 credits along with 4 credits of VOC and UG Diploma in Mathematics would be awarded after successful completion of first 4 semesters, i.e., 80 credits along with 4 credits of VOC.
 
Programme Details:
To successfully complete this programme, you will have to earn 120 credits over a period of 3 to 6 years depending on your convenience. Mathematics Discipline Specific Core courses, Interdisciplinary courses, Ability enhancement courses, value-added courses, skill-enhancement courses and Minor (Vocational and Discipline specific) courses are offered.
