Sanskrit is not only a religious and literary language, but also a storehouse of all kinds of science, law, justice, administration, economics, logic, arts and is the axis of Indian knowledge tradition. Our ancient texts mention about invention of electricity, Agastya Samhita illustrates in detail that electricity is generated through mantra from copper and zinc. Yuktikalpataru written by Raja Bhoj and Vamanikashastra of Maharishi Bhardwaj explain in detail the process of ship building. Coding is explained by Pingla Rishi. Ancient Indian chemists like Nagarjuna, Banabhatta, Govindacharya, Yashodhar, Ramchandra, Somdev etc. made inventions in chemistry. Books like Ras Ratnakar, Arogyamanjari, Ratnasamuchya, Ras Prakash etc give in-depth information about medicine. Bhaskara’s ancient Sanskrit texts like Lilavati, Siddhanta Shiromani etc provide detailed knowledge about all the branches of mathematics. We can get the knowledge of matter, molecule and atom from Maharishi Kanad. Surgery is explained in Sushruta Samhita. The study of ancient texts like Bharata's Natyashastra, Chanakya's Arthashastra, Panini's Ashtadhyayi, Pingal's Chhandashastra, Charaka Samhita, Maya Matha, Nyayasutra, Kamasutra etc. let us know about our glorious culture. Hence, this course will prove useful to the learners as the present day society is going back to its roots and exploring the science inherent in its ancient knowledge tradition. It has also been emphasized in the National Education Policy 2020 that there should be contemplation on the science inherent in the Indian knowledge tradition.
