GENESIS
The School of Extension and Development Studies (SOEDS) was established in 2007 with an aim at providing quality education and training in various aspects of extension and development studies, ie economic, social and human development, by offering programmes leading to the award of Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma and Post-Graduate Degrees in relevant subjects.

VISION
To be known for highest standard of excellence in education on Development Studies, Urban Studies & Extension Education in ODL.

MISSION
To devise quality ODL programmes and generate creative human resources with knowledge, skill and perspectives in the areas of Development Studies, Urban Studies & Extension Education.

OBJECTIVES

• To design and develop innovative certificate, diploma and degree programmes in the thrust areas of the school viz., development studies, urban studies, and extension education.
• To undertake research and capacity building programmes in the thrust areas of the school.
• To conduct conferences, seminars, workshops and discussions in the thrust areas of the school.
