Certificate programme for Adolescent Health and counselling is a 6 months programme of 14 credits. (Theory 12 credits, practicals 2 credits). The programme is for teachers who are

teaching is primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary school or any graduate. This programme has been developed to prepare teachers and parents to help adolescents to develop healthy life style.

 

The programme will enable the learners to;

? Strengthen their knowledge in understanding needs and concern of adolescent.

? Build knowledge on physical cognitive, emotional and psychological changes in adolescent.

? Develop skills in handling challenges related to adolescents.

? Identify their role in life skills education and counselling of adolescent.

Programme will be offered through any of the established LSC of SOHS However after re-launch of programme in January 2021 session SOHS is the programme study centre on pilot basis. All the student support is web enabled like Whatsapp group, through programme email, Google meet and WEAS portal. PSC will send information to all the students regarding theory and practical contact sessions (through virtual mode). Assignments will be submitted at PSC and evaluated by Academic Counsellor.

University conduct term end examination for theory courses in the month of June & December. To appear in University term end examination student need to submit the assignment and fill the examination form with Exam fee.

PIC will send marks to Regional Centre. Practical Examination will also be conducted by PSC. PIC will inform the Regional Centre internal and external examiner names and letter will be issued by RD, Regional Centre.

For successful completion of programme, a student is required to have minimum of 75% attendance in the counselling sessions, in each course to be eligible to appear in the examination. 100% attendance for practical work in each course is compulsory for becoming eligible to appear in the practical examinations.

 

·         Download the assignment from IGNOU website: go to downloads or Assignments section. Download assignment for respective year of admission. The submission dates are mentioned in the assignment. Student should submit assignments before taking the term-end theory examination. The counsellors at programme study centre will evaluate the assignments and return to the students for feedback.

·         If student is not able to submit all the assignments within minimum time frame of admission, then student will submit fresh assignments.

·         There is one practical course for 2 credits have one block.

·         CNS-AHL- 001 Block has 04 practicals 

·         First introduction to the course is given followed by introduction to the practical manual. 

·         Each practical unit has a structure, introduction and objectives to be achieved, content and steps to follow to carry out the practical and other related activities. 

·         At the end of the practical block(page-47-48), a list of self activities (Total -3) and supervised activities ((Total-1)  with number of hours to be spent and marks weightage is given for the reference

·         Carry out supervised activities with academic counsellor during practical contact sessions and complete the self activities at School/ Home/ Neighborhood/ Friends

·         Student will submit the Self Activities file to the Academic Counsellor for evaluation and Supervised Activities will also be evaluated by the Academic Counsellor during supervised practical contact session.

·         Note: Students are required to do the presentation of the case study in your programme study centre in front of peer group (through virtual mode). Preparation of case study and presentation carries 100 marks.

 

Theory Examination (TEE) will be conducted by the university as per date sheet by SED, IGNOU. Study Centre will be allotted by SED. Hall ticket will be uploaded, which is to be downloaded. TEE will carry 50 per cent weightage. Student needs to score 50 percent marks separately in the TEE to be declared successful.

For Practical Courses:

Continuous Evaluation for practical’s through self activities and supervised activities.

After completing self and Supervised activity of practical course students will be eligible to appear in final practical examination

Final practical examination and Viva voce will be conducted by programme coordinator (through virtual mode).

Practical Examination date will be finalized by PIC at PSC. Students will be informed in advance. Final Practical Examination will carry 50 per cent weightage which will be conducted by internal and external examiner in the subject. Student need to score 50 percent marks separately in the final practical examination to be declared successful.
