Admission Process
Admission is as per details in the common prospectus. Please see the advertisement in newspaper and IGNOU website home page for information. Download the prospectus from IGNOU Website. Fill and submit the online application form at

The selection of learners will be made on the basis of minimum qualification (eligibility criteria). If the number of candidates exceeds the maximum required number of 30 students per PSC, the students can be allotted other PSC as per the option given in application form. The candidates who are offered admission are required to show their original certificates to the Regional Director to confirm their admission. Implementation of the Programme
The programme is implemented through a network of Programme Study Centres (PSCs) all over the country. These PSCs are located in INC recognized College of Nursing/ Schools of Nursing and speciality and super speciality hospitals. Academic counselling is provided at programme study centers. For hands on training learners are placed in hospitals, attached to the respective Programme study centers. A team of trained teachers called counsellors are identified and trained for providing academic counselling and supervised practice in these centers. In addition, the learners are required to do self-practice at their own work place and maintain the record as self activities.
Programme Study Centre (PSC)
The Programme is implemented through a network of Programme Study Centres (PSCs) all over the country. The list of PSC have been given at Appendix 1. These PSCs are located in INC recognized College of Nursing/ Schools of Nursing and specialty and super specialty hospitals. PSC will send information to all the students regarding theory and practical contact sessions. Assignments will be submitted at PSC and evaluated by Academic Counsellor. PIC will send marks to Regional Centre. Practical Examination will also be conducted by PSC. PIC will inform the Regional Centre internal and external examiner names and letter will be issued by RD, Regional Centre.

Attendance
For successful completion of programme, a student is required to have minimum of 75% attendance in the counselling sessions, in each course to be eligible to appear in the examination.
90% attendance for practical work in each course is compulsory for becoming eligible to appear in the practical examinations.
Assignment and Self Activities and Supervised Activities Submission, Evaluation
- Download the assignment from IGNOU website: go to downloads or Assignments section. Download assignment for respective year of admission. The submission dates are mentioned in the assignment. Student should submit assignments before taking the term-end theory examination. The counsellors at programme study centre will evaluate the assignments and return to the students for feedback.
· If student is not able to submit all the assignments within minimum time frame of admission, then student will submit fresh assignments.
· Student will submit the Self Activities file to the Academic Counsellor for evaluation and Supervised Activities will be evaluated by the Academic Counsellor during supervised practical contact session.

Guidelines for Theory Term End Examination
Theory Examination (TEE) will be conducted by the university as per date sheet by SED, IGNOU. Study Centre will be allotted by SED. Hall ticket will be uploaded, which is to be downloaded. TEE will carry 50 per cent weightage. Student needs to score 50 percent marks separately in the TEE to be declared successful.

Guidelines for Practical Term End Examination
Practical Examination date will be finalized by PIC at PSC. Students will be informed in advance. Final Practical Examination will carry 50 per cent weightage which will be conducted by internal and external examiner in the subject. Student need to score 50 percent marks separately in the final practical examination to be declared successful. There will be one internal and one external examiner for each course.

Programme Study Centre
- Govt./Non Govt. Schools of nursing / College of Nursing offering diploma or degree programme in Nursing and are recognized by INC.
- Affiliated with Hospital having facility of Critical Care and ICU.
- 50-500 Bedded hospital which has 8-10 beds for Critical Care and ICU.
- Any Specialty and super specialty Hospital with Critical Care Unit /ICU.
Programme In-Charge
- Principal, School of Nursing /College of Nursing with M.Sc. in Nursing or any academic counsellor with M.Sc. nursing nominated by Principal
- Nursing Superintendent / DNS/ANS of a Hospital with M.Sc. in Nursing
- The programme incharge may be one the academic counsellors.

- M.Sc. in Medical Surgical Nursin
Or
- B.Sc. in Nursing having 5 years of teaching experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.
- M.Sc. in Nursing in any speciality
