The Post Graduate Degree programme of Master of Business Administration (Health Care and Hospital Management) (MBAHCHM) has been designed to develop a pool of trained workforce that can be employed by healthcare institutions, related organisations and hospitals in both private and government sectors to provide efficient support and ensure quality health care across the country including the remote areas.
This programme has been developed by eminent experts from various universities, hospitals, management institutions and AICTE, with expertise in management, hospital administration and public health experts from the main objectives with which this programme has been designed is that after successful completion of the programme, a student should be able to:
· Identify and analyse key issues in the effective management of national and international healthcare institutions.
· Demonstrate leadership and teamwork competencies.
· Project national and global thinking and cross-cultural understanding in the healthcare domain.
· Communicate effectively with all stakeholders for multidisciplinary team management to achieve quality health care, social responsiveness and ethics.
· Adopt the latest technologies in the context of hospitals and healthcare.
· Develop innovative and evidence-based practices in health care management through analytical and practical approaches using research on emerging and ongoing business challenges in health care administration.
Specific Skills and Competencies expected after undertaking the programme:
· acquire theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills to apply a scientific approach to management of people, materials, finance, communication organising work and managing resources.
· learn modern management techniques like inventory control, economic order quantity (EOQ), operational research, organisational development, management information system etc.
· plan how to face the problems of hospital management, and learn problem-solving and decision-making methods.
· assess the clinical and non-clinical needs of patient care, understanding the administrative and technical of requirements physicians and paramedical personnel.
· apply the principles and functions of general management to various services to maximize efficiency.
· learn planning and designing needs of physical facilities of hospitals.
· learn the principles and practices of health management and its interactive roles with medical care in hospitals.
· use the epidemiological techniques to study the prevalence of diseases and its pattern in the community to plan health care services.
· learn to utilize biostatistics in planning, decision-making, professional services review, and medico-administrative research.
