Dr.Krishna Kumar is an Assistant Professor in Discipline of Geography, School of Sciences (SOS), Indira Gandhi National Open University since September 2021. Dr. Kumar is a Geography Graduate from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, University of Delhi and completed his M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Geography from Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics (University of Delhi) , New Delhi. Prior to joining IGNOU, Dr. Kumar was teaching as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, University of Delhi. Dr. Kumar has a teaching experience of more than 7 years from University of Delhi. In Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College he was an active member of various committees (Examination, Admission, NSS, College Magazine, Seminars and Conferences).
His area of research are Regional Development and Planning, Rural and Urban Environmental Issues, Socio-Economic Aspects, Mountain Ecology, Tourism and Livelihood, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development. Dr. Kumar has published seven research papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and six chapters in edited books. He has also contributed and made academic presentations in various national and international seminars across India.
