The aim of this programme is to offer quality higher education at the post graduate level for the learners in building their careers in research and teaching in Zoology. In addition, it will provide an opportunity for knowledge upgradation and professional growth for the inservice personnel.
The programme of M.Sc. Zoology is developed in conformation with NEP 2020, as the courses are interdisciplinary in nature and are meticulously designed for vast scope of skills and applications to meet the demands of modern times.
The couses are intricately designed to provide you an indepth knowledge of the fundamental concepts in the core areas of Zoology viz. Molecular Cell Biology, Genetics, Comparative Animal Physiology and Biochemistry, as well as Genomics and Protemics, Immunology, Ecology and Bioinformatics.
Our elective courses in Parasitology, Animal Behaviour and Aquaculture are skill based courses. We are providing the programme with specialisation in Entomology (Insect Science) comprising of package of four special elective courses. Electives on Applied Entomology and Insect Toxicology are designed to acquaint you with the interesting areas of apiculture, sericulture, lac culture and recent insect management techniques in the field of Integrated Pest Management.
We will provide you adequate training in hands-on laboratory expriments based on all the theory courses. To boost your research spirit at the PG level, we have provided one course in Research Methodology. To put this course into practice, you are required to do a Project work in collaboration with other institutions/Industries.
Special Features of MSCZOO Program:
- MSCZOO is being offered with specialization in Entomology.
- Students have to do Project/Dissertation work.
Programme Objectives:
- To impart higher education in the area of Zoology.
- To provide an opportunity to the learners to upgrade their qualifications.
- To provide opportunities to the learners in building their careers in research and teaching in Zoology.
- To inculcate the spirit of resource conservation and love for nature.
- To distinguish between the structure, function, behaviour and evolution of different animals.
