Translation is generally studied and practiced in terms of language or written script. However, there is an increasing awareness about the idea to see the translation not merely in terms of written languages but also in terms of medium. In India, historically translation has been in practice across media, i.e. from oral to written or from oral to oral. In light of uniqueness of the Indian cultural perspective, translation programmes that focus on script (which is common to literature, film, radio and theatre) can be treated of paramount importance. Anuvaad evam Rupantaran mein Snatakottar Pramanpatra (PGCAR) aims to fill a major gap in translation, media and culture studies and training pertaining to preparation and adaptation of scripts. The programme includes discussion on understanding of the scope of translation and adaptation in mass media; provide an overall view of the various inter-disciplinary studies on translation and its practices in this field. The programme consists of 3 courses and a project component which will help learners to understand theoretical and practical aspects of the subject with hands-on experience of Script writing.
