Total 1,91,803 Degrees/Diploma to be awarded in the IGNOU’s convocation on 8th August 2015

 Total 1,91,803 Degrees/Diplomas shall be awarded  at the convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on 8th August 2015 to students who have passed the examination in December 2013 and June 2014. 

81 Ph.D, 27 M.Phil, 47,198 Master’s Degree, 75,305 Bachelors Degree, 40,733 Diplomas, 17,939 certificates and 10,520 Diploma in Primary Education will be awarded at the convocation.
 
IGNOU will organize its 28th convocation on 08/08/2015 at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, where Phd./M.Phil Scholars will be awarded their degree, where as students of various Masters and Professional Bachelor’s degree programme will be awarded degree at their respective Regional Centres.
 
Prof. Hari Gautam, Renowned educationist, Former Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC) and currently President Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Science and Technology, Jaipur will be the Chief Guest and deliver the convocation address. Prof. D.P. Singh, Former Vice–Chancellor, Lucknow University will be the Distinguished Guest.

During this convocation 90 gold medals will be given to the meritorious students and various awards shall be given to meritorious candidates viz. Prof. Ram Reddy Award, Dr. Abdul Kalam Award, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) Award, Mother Teresa Award and Prof. Grover Award. At this convocation an exhibition shall also be organized on this occasion highlighting the various achievements of the university.

IGNOU is now running 228 academic programmes, coordinated by 67 Regional Centres over 3000 study centres catering to over 3 million students in India and abroad. 

The convocation shall be webcasted live on YouTube and link on 
www.ignou.ac.in. Students of Delhi NCR can also witness the live webcasting of the convocation programme at Maneskshaw Centre
