Media Release: IGNOU organized Campus Placement Drive at Maidan Garhi Campus

The Campus Placement Cell (CPC) of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) organised a Campus Placement Drive where huge gathering of job seekers was witnessed, around 432 candidates were interviewed by four companies’ viz. Go-Ibibo.com, Convergys, Policy Bazaar and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. which participated in this drive.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushma Yadav was also present during placement drive, addressing students she said “I welcome all the students, who have turn up for the drive; I would also like to congratulate you for being part of the world’s largest university, as IGNOU is brand.” She also thanked the companies for participating in this drive and also gave her best wishes to the candidates."

Dr. Manoj Kulshrestha, Director Incharge, CPC, while talking to the students informed that CPC is conducting on an average one such mega drive every month in different parts of the country barring June and December being months of examination. CPC is continuously organising the placement drives for the female students for cabin crew for a leading airlines company at different Regional Centres. In this month, six such drives were conducted in the western part of the country.

The HR personnel from Go-Ibibo.com said “We were not expecting such a huge turn out for the drive, we are also happy with the Campus Placement Cell of IGNOU, as they have managed to organize this fair on such a large scale and we are happy to inform that, we have selected some candidates for the job and average CTC would be around 18k to 28k per month.”

Policy Bazaar and Convergys gave on the spot offer letter to the successful candidates with a CTC between 21k to 25k per month and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. gave package of 1.8 lakh per annum to the selected students.

Simplicity and effective communication is only the criteria for selection, besides fulfilling all the minimum eligibility conditions; said the official from the Convergys and Policy Bazaar. The HR Manager from GO-Ibibo.com said “In this competitive world, we have an expectation that, the promising candidate should at least be a graduate and should have impeccable communication and promising skills to get selected.”

Out of 432 candidates who appeared in the drive 86 were shortlisted or selected, Go-ibibo.com selected 24 students, Policy Bazaar selected 22 students, Convergys selected 07 students and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. selected 33 students from the placement drive.


Candidate who was shortlisted by Go-Ibibo.com said “I am really thankful to IGNOU for providing me this platform, despite of learning in a distance/Open University, we are also provided the chance for campus placement that too coming from regional centre and I am very much satisfied with the package the company gave.”
