December 2010

  • Union Home Minister P Chidambaram launched a certificate programme on Anti Human Trafficking on December 10 . This certificate programme is a first of its kind in the country.
  • Renowned spiritual leader and founder of Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar delivered a special lecture title, 'Human Values: A necessity for sustainable development', on December 1.

November 2010

  • IGNOU celebrated 25th Foundation Day on 19th November 2010. Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was the chief guest on the occasion. Foundation Day lecture was delivered by Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes.

MARCH 2010

  • 1,33,628 learners received Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates and 66 meritorious students were honored with gold medals at the 21st Convocation organised at the Delhi Headquarters and 43 Regional Centres.

FEBRUARY 2010

  • IGNOU adds six new Gyan Vani FM Radio Stations in addition to the 31 Radio Stations the University already operates.

  • With over 30 Lakh students, IGNOU achieves the status of world's largest university by UNESCO.
