Dr. Vijeta Banwari
Associate Professor
Dr. Vijeta Banwari has joined IGNOU in August, 2021 as Associate Professor of Economics, School of Social Sciences. However, she has been associated with IGNOU academically or professionally since 2009. She completed her MA(Economics), M.Phil and Ph.D (Economics) from IGNOU. She has also worked briefly as Junior Consultant in the School of Education. She has completed M.Ed from Delhi University and B.Ed from GGSIPU. She is also a Gold medalist in Post Graduate diploma from Distance Education (IGNOU).
Dr. Vijeta has 13 years of rich experience of teaching BBA and B.Com students in Maharaja Surajmal Institute, affiliated to GGSIP University. During this time, she has also served as Head of Department (Commerce) and Training and Placement Officer.
She believes that a lamp cannot light another lamp until it keeps its own flame alive. With that spirit, she has completed various MOOC courses (Qualitative research, Mathematical Economics, Refresher course in Economics Refresher Course in Pedagogical innovations and research) from SWAYAM.
She is a keen researcher with various papers published in national and international journals. She has also presented various research papers in National and International conferences. She has written two books and contributed 20 chapters in various books. Her areas of interest in the discipline of Economics are Economics of Education and Behavioral Economics. NET qualified in both Economics and Education, she has keen interest in examining economic issues in the field of Education.
