Dr. S Vijaysekhar Reddy
Professor
Prof. S. Vijaysekhara Reddy specialises in International Relations and Development Studies. He has obtained his research degrees from Andhra Pradesh Open University, Hyderabad and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His areas of interest are politics and issues related to South Asia, Nuclear diplomacy and Outer space.
Prior to joining IGNOU, Prof. Reddy was at the Andhra Pradesh Open University (now, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Open University), Hyderabad where he was involved in development of self-instructional materials in Social Sciences in English and Telugu languages. Here at IGNOU, he has been associated with teaching and development of courses for the Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Research degree programmes. He teaches courses on South Asia, Comparative Government and Politics, Peace and Conflict Studies and Research Methodology.
He was actively involved in coordinating and guiding dissertation work of the Masters programme in Political Science. Currently, in addition to coordinating activities of the School of Social Sciences pertaining to the introduction of choice based credit system at undergraduate level, he is developing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of Comparative Government and Politics. He is also engaged in supervising the work of research scholars enrolled in the Faculty of Political Science.
