Infrastructure at Regional Centre

INFRASTRUCTURE AT THE REGIONAL CENTRES
The RCs are mostly located in hired buildings. The university has constantly emphasized the need for RCs to function from their own premises. In this direction some RCs are now operating from own buildings, few have acquired land for the RC building and some are in the process of obtaining land for the purpose. The list of RCs operating from their own buildings is provided in the Table below:

Regional Evaluation Centres (REC) In RCs with Own Buildings
RECs have been shifted to the RCs having their own buildings. The RCs with own buildings have provided space to the RECs as follows:
LSC Located In Regional Centre Premises
Learner support services are also being provided to learners by some RCs from their own premises. The LSC located in the RC is assigned a code and is equipped with the requisite infrastructure, such as, ICT enabled rooms/labs for conduct of acacdemic counselling. The academic support for conduct of theory and practical counselling sessions, evaluation of assignments and other support services are organized with the help of academic counselors from local LSCs in the region. Gyan Darshan T.V. Channel facility for Regional Centres and Learner Support Centres
IGNOU telecasts educational programmes through the Gyan Darshan channel. The Regional Centres have been equipped with DTH facility to enable access to these programmes by learners. Most of the LSCs have also been provided the DTH facility to access the IGNOU programmes.
Broadband Facilities for Learner Support Centres
All Learner Support Centres have been provided with broadband facilities.
