Dr Umesh Chandra Pandey (MSc, MPhil, PhD, PGDDE) presently holds the position of Director Regional Services Division in IGNOU. He has more than 32 years of experience in planning and implementation of distance education programmes in India. He went on deputation to work as Director (Knowledge Management) in School of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal in 2008 where he worked till 2010 during which he significantly contributed for identification and dissemination of good practices in government. His primary research interests include Open and Distance Learning systems and Sustainable Development.
