Dr. Vinita Katiyar presently holds the position of Deputy Director, Regional Services Divisions IGNOU Hqrs. Dr. Katiyar joined IGNOU in 2011 as an Assistant Regional Director and served at Regional Center Karnal, Regional Centre Delhi – 2 (Rajghat) of the University from May 2011 to September 2019.
She holds a Masters Degree in Botany with specialisation in Ecology & Plant Pathology from Vikram University, Ujjain (MP). She is GATE-93 exam qualified. She received the UGC/NET fellowship for Ph.D. & completed her Ph.D. in discipline of Life Sciences (Botany) from Vikram University, Ujjain (MP). She has done her post-doctoral work at IIT Delhi in the area of Indoor Air Pollution.
Dr. Katiyar has vast research experience and is the recepient of Young Scientist Awardstwice, in 2001 and 2004 from the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. Her areas of research include ambient, outdoor& indoor air pollutions, air pollution exposure studies on plants & humans, occupational exposure and safety. She has more than 20 publications in national and international journals of repute to her credit. She is also a Reviewer for some of the International Journals. She has been Fellow of the Linnean Society of London from 2013 to 2015. She has taught at Government Girls College Neemuch (MP), Gargi College Delhi University and Department of Microbiology, Institute of Home Economics, Delhi University.
She has been Member of Advisory Committee of Indoor Air Conferences held 2011 in Texas (US), 2014 in HongKong, 2016 in Belgium, and the Indoor Air Conferences to be held in Seoul (SK) in 2020.
Dr. Katiyar has edited a book titled Microbial Research-An Overview[ISBN: 9789385909443]published by IK International Delhi in the year 2018.
She has acquired PG Diplomas in Distance Education, Environment and Sustainable Development, Disaster Management, Rural Development, Education Management Technology and Certificate in Human Rights from IGNOU. She is an empaneled Academic Counsellor and evaluatorofsome of the courses of PG Diploma in Food Safety and Quality Management (PGDFSQM), Diploma in Dairy Technology (DDT), Bachelor of Science Degree& M. Sc. (DFSM) Programme.
