Born In 1968 in North Lakhimpur, Assam, Prof. Hazarika was awarded the degree of Doctorate in 2010 by VBS Purvanchal University for his thesis “Nagarjun Ke kavya Mein Manav Mulya”. Dr. Hazarika has an academic experience of 29 years including as Principal and 12 years as Head of the Department. In this long and successful career, Prof. Hazarika has participated in a number of National and International conferences and presented papers in various workshops and seminars.

Prof. Hazarika has a number of research publications to his credit and has authored over 7 books that have been referred for study in higher education at the National / International level.

Prof. Hazarika has been a commissioned member of the University Grants Commission, a Visiting faculty to Central University, Jharkhand, Guwahati University & Dibrugarh University, a Resource person to Various Colleges, Universities, Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, All India Radio, Doordarshan, Income Tax Dept. and various Schools. He is also a governor Nominee of Bodoland University, Chairman of Formulation of Implementation Plan of NEP,2020 under UGC, New Delhi to name a few.

Prof. Hazarika is also an international member in the Executive body of the National Hindi Society, America and Founder President of the International Forum of Language & Literature.

Prof. Hazarika has been the recipient of a number of awards and honours. The Rajkumari Khanna Memorial Rashtra Bhasha Award, Shambhunath Singh Smriti Hindi Sewi Samman, Distinguished Service Award Society for Educational & Economics Development, Excellence Academic Leadership Award to name a few.
