Web Enabled Academic Support System – An Innovative Learning Solution
Web Enabled Academic Support, commonly known as WEAS, is a scheme initiated by IGNOU with the aim to provide an interactive one-stop programme portal to help the students in getting academic support on the programme they are enrolled in. WEAS is an innovative and interactive one-stop programme portal for providing academic support to the distance learners, with components like learning content in the form of digital self-learning material, learning resources like audio books, videos, articles, OER, weekly quiz, and FAQs related to the programme. E-mentoring, collaborative learning through discussion forums and interactive virtual classrooms are some other useful components of the portal.
It will help the students in getting academic support to the programme they are enrolled in through various innovative strategies. From learners' point of view WEAS offers access to the online portal with information, notification for important events/dates, digital format of course material, learning resources, a discussion forum for peer-to-peer learning and quizzes at one place.
